Twas the week before Christmas, and perched on the tree was an unexpected visitor as majestic as can be! At a home in Virginia, a barred owl used a chimney to enter a house and then decided that he would make a better Christmas tree topper than the star the family had on the tree. He knocked it off and made himself at home on his new perch. A police officer answered the family’s call and gently captured their new feathered friend and safely released it back into the wild.

Editorial TeamThis is my second year being involved in journalism! I am in speech and debate, journalism, cheer, Spanish club, student council. I am also an FCCLA officer for our school and the class president. I enjoy reading, sleeping, planning and listening to music during my free time (which is nonexistent). One of my favorite book series would have to be The Hunger Games. Generally speaking, dystopian novels are just unbeatable. I love all things fall, especially the weather, and winter as well. I enjoy things like reading, writing and speaking, so naturally, English is my favorite subject. Most importantly though, I am very excited about what we can accomplish this year!
