Seniors had a chance to wear their overalls and revel in memories at the senior pep rally at the beginning of the month. The students played games, hung up their uniforms and shed a few tears at the thought of being done with high school.
A variation of musical chairs that had seniors as the chairs was a hit.
“The game was new to me and kind of hard but I still had a lot of fun playing,” senior Kacen Brantley said. “Finding my partner through all the others was probably the hardest part.”
After the game, the seniors sat down and shared some of their favorite memories with their junior high science teacher, Teresa MacNabb. Then they were told to go and find their childhood toy front he pile that was put out by the sponsors.
“It was a little sad seeing all these kids as seniors,” MacNabb said. “I am so proud of how far they have come, and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for them.”
Hanging up uniforms was the most tear-filled part of the event.
“It’s always an emotional time during this activity, which I understand as change can be hard,” class sponsor Maria Salazar said. “This senior class is smart and full of energy. They have a lot ahead of them.”
