Fluorescent lights danced across walls as halloween music boomed from speakers. The Brigade was hosting its annual spooky celebration, complete with music, treats and games. Parents helped Director Jeff Villarreal set up the festivities and host a night of fun.
“The party was a blast and all the help from parents is greatly appreciated,” Villareal said. “The kids have worked hard this year, and they deserved a time to have fun and enjoy themselves.”
The costume contest was the biggest hit, even if not everyone agreed with the final decisions.
“The costume game was fun but a bit rigged in my opinion,” band member Kade Hardin said. “My Mario costume should have been the one that won.”
There were plenty of snacks like brownies decorated as brains, and the partygoers appreciated the efforts of the adults.
“The party was very colorful and festive,” senior Andie Kilgore said. “There was lots of really good food and I felt like I ate the whole night. I had a really great time.”
Besides the costume contest, students participated in games such as musical chairsand a dance competition. An assortment of prizes were awarded to the winners.
“I really enjoyed all of the games,” senior Oswaldo Garcia said. “I wish that we had done the tic tac toe game, but I guess there wasn’t enough time.”
Sophomore Kaleb Barzda was very grateful for all of the people who put the party together.
“This year’s party did not disappoint and I was really excited with how it turned out,” Barzda said. “I am looking forward to next year’s festivities.”
Other band members agreed.
“The food was good and I enjoyed dancing with my friends,” Jose Dominguez said. “I had a blast and I can’t wait until next year’s party.”
