The UIL Bison Gold group, which includes academic UIL as well as speech and debate and OAP, is working on a spring fundraiser to help with travel costs. Students need to meet their goal of $2,000 by March 6.
“This fundraiser is a very beneficial fundraiser and will help us along the way,” sophomore Tristan Cole said. “When we advance and travel, meals and activities get expensive, so everything we can raise helps.”
The fundraiser contains a large variety of items including seeds and bulbs as well as more conventional items like candy and snacks.
“We chose items that were a little different than the typical items,” UIL coordinator Melonie Menefee said. “I know everyone gets tired of fundraisers, but we are hoping that since spring is coming that the flowers will be a big seller.”
There are also candies and kitchen items available.
“I believe that the products we are selling look very appealing and I may even purchase some,” senior Molly Hirsch said. “Hopefully the fundraiser will be a success.”
