Five years before Ellery and Ezra move into Echo Ridge, another homecoming queen was murdered. And before school even begins for the year, someone’s declared open season on homecoming, promising to make it as dangerous as it was five years ago. Then, almost as if to prove it, another girl goes missing. Who was killing these young girls? And why are they targeting homecoming queens?

The town is picture-perfect, but it’s hiding secrets. And Ellery knows all about secrets. Her mother has them. Her grandmother has them, too. In fact, it is soon obvious that everyone in Echo Ridge is hiding something. The thing is, secrets are dangerous–and most people aren’t good at keeping them. Which is why in Echo Ridge, it’s safest to keep your secrets to yourself.

This story is perfect for anyone interested in mystery and crime books, but the novel is much more than that. It also follows two teenagers who fall in love but can’t be together. It’s full of suspense. This book is definitely worth the read.
