The bench explodes as freshman Jordan Jenkins hits a three at the buzzer to put the Lady Bison on top of the Riesel team and the district. The girls will take on Anderson-Shiro next week in the first round of the playoffs.

The Lady Bison wrapped up district play Tuesday night with a win against Riesel on their senior night. A win against Mildred last week meant that the Buffalo and Mildred were tied for first, and wins by both again Tuesday night meant that they stayed that way. Flipping a coin to determine playoff bracket seeding, the Lady Bison will face off with Anderson-Shiro on Tuesday at the Madisonville High School Gym.

After months of after-school practices and tournaments to improve their game, the girls are excited about their chances to move farther into the playoffs. They are determined not to let Anderson-Shiro stop them from moving on.

“I am really excited about how far we have come. We have worked extremely hard to get to this point,” senior Taylor Rutledge said. “I have high expectations that we will get pretty far; we will definitely work for it.”
