The race is on!
With a five-minute countdown, class officers were instructed to come out of the classrooms and show off their school spirit by having a representative from their class dress as a superhero.
Many changes happened to how pep rallies are run this year to maintain everyone six-feet apart and still participating. One of the new changes are classes competing to win the most spirit sticks; the class winner will win a trip to Corsicana for a movie and pizza.
“I felt pressured because five minutes wasn’t enough time to come up with a costume and we weren’t prepared with supplies. Plus, we knew that other classes had really good costumes,” sophomore Lane Freeman said. “I think we have the advantage of having a really big class and just being the loudest, that’s how we plan on winning.”
There were three spirit sticks to win: best poster, loudest chant and the best superhero costume.
“This year’s pep rally is about us,” sophomore Avery Best said. “The student body is in control of the challenges, and we are showing out more than any other year.”
