Every month the staff chooses two different students to represent the school as Students of the Month. This year’s representatives are senior Gina Jones and junior Benito Avila.
“It felt really good to get student of the month; I’ve joked about wanting it for months, but I didn’t think I would actually get it,” Jones said. “When I heard my name get called, I couldn’t have been more proud of myself.”
These students are chosen because of their determination and the hard work they do for BHS. They are involved in extracurricular activities and work hard in their classes.
“I think that I was chosen because I turn my work in and I don’t cause trouble,” Avila said.
Avila participates in football, baseball and NHS. Jones participates in theatre, OAP, NHS and speech and debate.
“I like to keep myself busy,” Jones said. “I like to be involved and do my best in class, and that’s why I think I deserve Student of the Month.”
