The last Monday before Christmas break, student council members had a last meeting so they could wrap Angel Tree presents and enjoy Christmas cookies and music while they worked.
“I love being able to help out kids that don’t have a normal Christmas as we do,” freshman Pari Jarawala said. “Imagining the look on all their faces on Christmas morning is worth it all.”
The student council members raised money to purchase a full set of gifts for a student in one of the lower grades. While they did not know the identity of the student, they enjoyed making sure she would have presents she enjoyed.
“Wrapping presents is one of my favorite parts of Christmas,” freshman Shelby Johnston. “And knowing that these gifts are going a little kid on Christmas makes me happy.”
Other groups have collected items for Angel Tree kids as well.
“I decided to join student council for many reasons but this was a main one,” freshman Nidia Dominquez said. “Giving back to the community and little kids especially just makes my heart happy.”
