The lights onstage stayed on all night last Saturday while the theatre musical group held a lock-in rehearsal. The actors had a great opportunity to have fun, eat, and rehearse. They slept for a few hours and were up again early Sunday morning to rehearse even more.
“We practiced the musical and grew our relationship with each other,” senior Colby Menefee said. “We got to hang out and slept for a while, and then we practiced some more in the morning before we went home.”
Sophomore Ashley White plays Belle in the production of Beauty and the Beast. She said that it was a great weekend for her to get to bond with her fellow actors.
“I love being Belle in the musical; it’s so exciting, and I can’t wait to show it off to the town,” White said. “We got to eat, play and have fun last weekend and it was a blast.”
The actors had a chance to bond and get more rehearsed in their parts as characters. Directors Melonie Menefee and Katie Villarreal hope that the hard work going into the show will pay off.
“I’m so proud of all the hard work the kids have put into this play,” Menefee said. “I’m so excited about our production in December.”
