Most of the students here at the school have grown up together. Each student has a close-knit group of friends that they have known since kindergarten. For Ambrosio Villagomez, better known as Bocho, making friends has never been a problem.
Villagomez is a freshman here at Buffalo High School who moved from California in eighth grade, the time when most people’s friends’ group begins to fill up. However, that didn’t stop Villagomez from making many friends.
“When I first moved here, I wasn’t really scared of not making friends because I like to say I am pretty funny,” Villagomez said. “I was myself and people seemed to like it.”
Bocho has since moved up to high school, and even here he seems to have a friend around every corner. Villagomez has had no trouble making friends with students.
“He is the type of person that makes you laugh, even if you don’t want to,” senior Nadia Garcia said. “He is nice and has good jokes.”
Villagomez was also nominated and awarded the freshman representative spot on the homecoming court. According to friends, they really weren’t that surprised when they heard he had won.
“I knew it was probably going to be him,” freshman Sydney Lebel said. “He is friends with just about everyone. I am sure the whole class voted for him.”
Even after all this, Villagomez has participated in multiple sports and activities including football, basketball, and theatre.
“I may not be the best at each sport or activity I do,” Villagomez said. “However, I always try to make it fun and exciting for everyone, including myself. I just like to be in the moment.”
Villagomez may be popular and all about living in the moment, but he has a goal in life and is working to reach it.
“When I get older, I want to go to college to become a veterinarian,” Villagomez said. “And I will accomplish that dream because if I want something I will put everything behind me until I achieve it.”
