Picoult’s novel written with daughter is a smash hit
Between the Lines, written by Jodi Picoult with the help of her daughter, Samantha Van Leer, is a mix of a romantic novel filled with humor, adventure and magical relationships. The story first starts with a Delilah, a 15-year-old who is a loner. Her father left the family long ago and her mother worries since she doesn’t have many friends. Delilah, who loves to read, finds an old fairytale book titled Between the Lines. She has a crush on the main character in the book, Oliver, mostly because he knows how it feels to lose a father. Delilah wishes that she could find a person just like Oliver. Then one day, Oliver starts speaking to her from the book.
I honestly loved this book. It might be a bit cliche, but it’s still an amazing book. I really like this book because the reader gets to see the “behind the scenes” of the book, basically see what happens when you shut the book. Also you get to know all the different characters in this book. It shares the details of the other characters, and how they really when they aren’t in character.
Overall I really recommend this book, and there’s a sequel called Off the Page. I really look forward to reading the book!
