Seniors Jacie Jones and Taylor Shelton visit with the Sam Houston rep at a fall college fair in Jewett. Jones plans to attend SHSU in the fall.

Students have tons of choices of organizations to join during their high school years, and senior Jacie Jones is a member of many of them. She participates actively in FFA, 4-H, NHS, the Student Council, and Spanish Club.

“Jacie is one of the sweetest students I know,” Spanish teacher Cindy Eppes said. “I have the honor of having her in both Spanish Club and NHS. It wouldn’t be the same  without her positive attitude.”

In addition, she also participates in volleyball and has been a cheerleader for majority of her high school career.

“I loved playing volleyball but now that it is over I enjoy being in FFA,” Jones said. “It teaches you responsibility and how to work as a team.”

Jones shows steers and is currently preparing for the Leon County Livestock show.

“FFA is a great organization to be in,” Jones said. “You have a lot of fun and you meet so many new people.”

Although being a part of so many extracurricular activities may seem, at times, overwhelming, Jones flourishes at being successful in each.

“I manage to juggle them all by staying focused on what needs to be done,” Jones said. “I always try to stay calm about everything and not stress myself out.”

When she’s not busy with school and activities, she loves to spend her off time in the presence of those that are close to her.

“In my free time I love to hang out with my family and friends,” Jones said. “I always have a great time when I am with them.”

For fun Jones enjoys doing things such as going to the movies or simply “chilling” with her peers.

“No matter what we do we always have fun,” senior Taylor Shelton said. “Jacie is always cheerful and enjoyable to be around. It’s always good to have a friend like her around.”
