Cheerleaders get ready for competition
With the first year of UIL cheer competition on the horizon, the cheerleaders travelled to Eustace last week to compete in a practice meet. The girls have been working on new moves and cheers and wanted to see what the competition would be like.
“I personally think we did pretty good,” senior Kendall Morales said. “We learned a lot and got to see what this year’s competition would be like.”
For some, it also helped get rid of fears.
“I was so nervous at first, since it was my first time in competition cheer,” freshman Macky Morales said. “At least I now have an idea of what real competition will be like. “
The cheerleaders will compete Wednesday UT Arlington. They will be nearly 50 schools in the 3A competition from across the state.
“I can honestly say that we have worked hard for this,” sophomore Taylor Lack said. “I think we’ll do great!”
