Some new faces have been added to the theater group this school year, and they’re not all freshman. The theater production The Boys Next Door includes seniors Kyle Simpson, Clay McGill, Dylan Harris and Logan Freeman, who have never done acting in theater before. Showtimes are Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30, at 7:00 pm.

Director Jill Henson is excited about the addition to her cast.

“I feel like we have a great group of kids this year,” director Jill Henson said. “We have a lot of new faces, but all of them have a lot of talent. This play is going to be great!”

The Boys Next Door is based on story about four men, Arnold Wiggins (Clay McGill), Norman Bulansky (Dylan Harris), Barry Klemper (Noah Ruel/ Dylan Cornish) and Lucien P. Smith (Tristan Best), who all live together in an apartment supervised by Jack Palmer (Logan Freeman), that shows how four mentally handicapped men interact with the outside world.

“It’s really cool how I got to have a big part in the play this year,” senior Clay Mcgill said. “This is a great play, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!”

The play has funny moments, “aww” moments, touching moments, and sad moments, but the overall message that the play is trying to get across is how behind every mentally handicapped person there’s an actual human being.

“This play has a lot of meaning in it,” senior Logan Freeman said. “Yeah, it’s funny, but there is a message behind it that can really appeal to everyone. I just hope people love watching it as much as we love doing it.”
