Juniors Brittnie Garcia and Makayla Troyer pose for a Christmas picture while on the Spanish Club trip to Ft. Worth.

While other students were sleeping in on the first Saturday of the winter break, Spanish Club students headed to Ft. Worth to check out the stockyards and see The Polar Express in the Imax Dome.

“The experience was great,” junior Miryam Zapata said. “We got to try new types of food that are from a different culture than we normally experience. The movie we watched made us get in the Christmas mood.”

The food was not the only part that students enjoyed.

“The stockyards were fun, but unfortunately  we didn’t get to stay long,” junior Ally Gaskins said. “It was fun to walk around and see all of the cool stuff that was there.”

Overall the students as well as the teachers thought that it was a good way to get the students involved in the Spanish Club.

“We had a lot of fun, we got to eat good food, the movie was great, and we got to eat ice cream,” sponsor Cindy Eppes said. “Those who didn’t get to come really missed out.”
