Pate moves between campuses
Business teacher Mitchell Pate is new to the high school, but not new to the district. Joining the staff to teach Animation, AV Production, Game Programming and Mobile App Design, Pate is starting his fourth year of teaching after two years at the lower junior high and a year at the elementary.
“It’s great to be back at my alma mater,” Pate said. “It helped me become who I am today.
Pate, who graduated from Texas A&M and recently received his Master’s Degree from Lamar University, said he is looking forward to helping students excell at their activities.
“Having technology skills is crucial in today’s society,” Pate said. “I hope to teach my students what they need to know in order to be successful in the real world.”
In addition to his business tech classes, Pate is in charge of ESL, is the sophomore class sponsor, is coaching UIL and drives the bus. He hopes to retire from BISD after spending some time in administration.
“I stay really busy, but I wouldn’t change it for the world,” Pate said. “I am so blessed to call Buffalo my home.”
