Parade added to city tree lighting

The annual tree lighting was held at City Hall on November 28, adding a parade to the line-up this year. There were three rides: a snowslide, a mini train and a rockwall for everyone to enjoy.

“This parade was so fun, the whole community was there,” freshman Juan Santos said. “I had an amazing time with my friends and family; I love that we have this tree lighting every year because it’s a great way to bring everyone together.”

Kona Ice served hot chocolate and Bobo’s Nursery served popcorn, and there were performances by the Belles, Brigade, a local dance group and others. Buffalo 4-H had cookies and treats and other businesses and groups had treats as well. Santa was there (and so was The Grinch) and the place was packed.

“There were many people,” freshman Brock Corbitt said. “It’s a beautiful event and it’s not just about lighting a tree, it’s about having an amazing time being together because that’s what Christmas is all about.”
