Around 10 pm Wednesday night trooper was dispatched to investigate a wreck three miles west of Brownsboro. Officers believe a truck, driven by 27-year-old Bunheng Sok, was in the left outside lane on SH 31, while a car driven by DeWet was traveling in the outside lane on SH-31.
For reasons not yet known, the car went into the opposite lane and hit the car. Sok was taken to Tyler hospital in critical condition. DeWet was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
