Last Saturday, FFA members competed in their annual Battle of the Gavel competition.
FFA officers participated alongside several other members. Senior Cade Cleveland won.
“This is our first meeting of the year,” senior Brandon Brown said. “It allows us to get to know each other.”
Brown said the competition consisted of various games and activities such as “egg tosses, water sports and relays” that were judged by leaders Henry Goff and Mikaela Hall.
“Members competed in various individual and group events for the gavel,” FFA sponsor Henry Goff said.
The activities served as team building exercises for the group.
“Working together to complete the tasks brought us together,” Brown said. “It taught us to think as a team.”
Brown added that he is “excited for the year ahead.”
“We meshed very well,” Brown said. “Energies were very high.”
