WWII movie showcases different perspective

Great Britain faces imminent threat of invasion after France falls to Adolf Hitler’s Nazi’s. The Nazi’s seem unstoppable as they advance through all of Europe without much opposition. The Brits and French have now been pushed to the beaches of Dunkirk hoping that their newly appointed prime minister, Winston Churchill, can save them.

The historical film The Darkest Hour is the flip side to Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. It tells the same event, yet from a different perspective. Dunkirk tells the story of the thousands of troops stranded on the beaches as they await their fate. The Darkest Hour examines how politicians try to come up with solutions to get them out.

This story is very interesting, in fact, it demonstrates the resilience of Churchill and the difficult decisions that he faced. The world around him was crumbling down, yet he rose and opposed the fascists leader. Overall the movie has great acting skills and very good picture quality. I loved that it showed a part of history that was important to the western world. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone interested in history.
