Junior class chili dinner is a success

Students, staff, and community members might have been heading to the school for a basketball game, but when they walked through the doors, the smell of chili filled their nose.

Junior class sponsor Anna Bailey and officers decided to have a chili dinner as a fundraiser to raise money to help fund this year’s prom.

“We wanted something that was going to be quick and easy to put together,” Bailey said. “Also something easy to have parents and students to donate items for.”

The dinner helped the class raise a little more than $600.

“The dinner was kind of thrown together last minute,” Bailey said. “We had made more than I expected that we would make.”

Bailey has said that they will do another fundraiser like this again next year except switch up chili for something else for variety.

“The dinner was fun and very easy to do,” junior Mykayla Dennix said. “Chili definitely fit the weather we have been having, too.”
