Volleyball district awards announced

They walked onto the court, each smiling as the crowd congratulated them for their success.

The volleyball girls played against Elkhart in determine which team would progress to playoffs; despite a loss, the girls kept their heads high.

“We were kind of bummed to know that the volleyball season was over,” Mel McGill said. “But we were proud to have played our hearts out that game.”

Despite this, the girls were able to receive awards, including senior Jayci Hightower and sophomore Mollie Dittmar receiving first team All- District.

“I felt very blessed to have these awards as a second year varsity player,” Dittmar said. “Despite our outcome this season, I am hopeful for success in our future volleyball seasons.”

Juniors McKenzie Ryder and Asia Bradley as second team All- District.

“This was really an accomplishment for us on our junior year,” Ryder said. “Overall I’m just proud to have played with a close team like ours.”

Honorable mention All- District given to Kassidy Bell, Madison Rowan, Makenzie Simpson, Samantha Pate, Shalyn Cotton, Kaylee Morgan and Melanie McGill.

“We were all very happy to have received honorable mention,” McGill said. “I think many of us were awarded this because of the dedication that we each displayed on the team.”
