Trump pushes doomsday clock closer to midnight

The doomsday clock, a symbolic clock indicating of how close scientists think we are to destroying our planet, has shifted to two and a half minutes to doomsday. The change comes, in part, because of the actions of president Donald Trump.

The clock’s position is normally evaluated only once per year, but the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists decided to reevaluate the minute hand’s placement, citing Trump’s “statements and actions as president-elect.”
