Over the weekend, AT&T proposed to buy Time Warner for around $85 billion. Time Warner said yes. This could be one of the largest media mergers ever. For AT&T, this could open up new ways for its business to grow now that everyone has a smartphone. For Time Warner, it may get more of their content in front of viewers even while cable is going out of favor. U.S. regulators still need to ok the deal, so it’s not a for-certain yet.
