To win is great but to NEVER lose is even better. The Lady Bison basketball team has been dominating the courts this season and remain undefeated with a 17-0 record as they near the halfway point in district play.

This season has been different from any other season I have ever played,” senior Allison Grissett said. “We’re all connected as one unit. I’ve never felt one this strong.”

Although they have faced some strong opponents, the Lady Bison have prevailed. Earlier this season at the Eustace tournament, they faced Tatum, a 4A team ranked seventh in the state.

“Tatum has been the most challenging team we’ve faced so far,” junior Lauren Pate said. “But we beat them by 20 points. That not only shows how well trained we are, but how focused we are to win.”

The Lady Bison defeated Crockett, their biggest opponent in district, 64-48 last Friday. If they can continue their winning streak, they will come out on top of the district as they move into the playoffs.

“There’s not a doubt in my mind that we can’t remain undefeated and become sole district champs,” Grissett said. “We just have to keep doing what we’re doing and I think we’ll be alright.”
