Unfriended shows the horrors of online bullying

If you haven’t checked this one out yet, it’s a must-see

Unfriended is about six friends: Blaire Lily (Shelley Hennig), Val Rommel (Courtney Halverson), Jess Felton (Renee Olstead), Adam Sewell (William Peltz), Ken Smith (Jacob Wysocki) and Mitch Roussel (Moses Storm), who are all in a video chat session on Skype. When they are suddenly joined by a user known as “Billie227”, thinking that it’s a technical glitch, they carry on their conversation. But then Blaire starts receiving messages from someone who claims to be Laura Barns (Heather Sossaman), a classmate who had killed herself a year prior. During this video chat session all friends are forced to bring their darkest secrets and lies out into the open.

I liked the movie. It shows what bullying could do to someone and what the consequences of bullying can be. It was not necessarily believable, but it was a contemporary telling of an age-old problem: bullying and the guilt that it can bring with it.
