This past week, the Lady Bison softball team got one loss and one win. The odds have been stacked against the team this season. With many girls out on injuries, other players have had to step up to the plate and learn new positions.

The Lady Bison got their second win of the season against Crockett last week.

“Our games are interesting,” freshman Taylor Lack said. “We do try out best and that’s what matters most. We put up a fight against Crockett and came out on top. We are slowly getting better.”

Under the tough circumstances, the softball players are improving and growing as a team.

“I think we played really good last week,” freshman Shalyn Cotton said. “We played as a team and got a win, despite the fact that we have a lot of people hurt and only nine players to work with.”

Though the injured players are not happy about not getting to play, they are all really proud of their teammates.

“It stinks not getting to play with my team,” junior Allison Grissett said. “But, I they’ve handled the pressure pretty good and they’re all doing really good. I’m proud to be on such a great team with the best teammates.”
