The Lady Bison finished off the district season with a win against Trinity in three matches, placing them fourth in district. The girls will start playoffs next week against Central Heights.

“It was saddening knowing that it was our last district game,” said junior Allison Grissett, “But it’s exciting knowing that we are advancing to play-offs.”

This game was instrumental in getting the girls into play-offs. Some of the girls were a bit worried in the first game because the score was very close, but the next two games were easy wins.

“We felt kind of bad because we ruined their volleyball senior night by winning,” senior Karina Sotelo said. “But they ruined our homecoming so it evens out.”

The girls are excited for games that are to come and have high hopes for their future in playoffs.

“I am so proud of my team and how far we have come,” junior Madison Kennedy said. “We are hoping in play-offs to get some wins and a lot of experience.”

To make the playoffs, the girls also dominated their games the week before, winning both Tuesday and Friday. They won in 5 sets against Crockett and in 4 against New Waverly.

That Tuesday night was “Senior Night” where the senior players were honored.

“It was really emotional that night when we were giving all our stuff to each other,” junior Allison Grissett said. “But, a lot of people came to support us so that made everything ten times better.”

Both games were very emotional for the girls, especially the seniors.

“Tuesday was senior night and it was so much more sad than Friday, which was our last home game,” senior Erykah Anderson said. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet that it was our last time to play at home for volleyball.”

Though an emotional week, the Lady Bison came out on top both games.

“It’s sad to think that we’ll never play at with the seniors again,” junior Jacie Jones said. “But, we had a great season and I’m proud to be a part of this team.”
