Active Life Scholarship to Tackle Your Weakness

Who: Current high school or college students age 15 years or older.

What: This scholarship encourages students to identify and take action to improve a weakness and begin to transform it into a strength.

Amount: $1,000. May be used at any college to study any major.

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Eligibility: Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application.
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2021) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the question on your high school being overrun by zombies.

Voice of Democracy $30,000 Scholarship

The VFW established the Voice of Democracy program (VOD) in 1947 to provide students grades 9-12 the opportunity to express themselves in regards to democratic ideas and principles. The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. Other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first-place winner from each (state) VFW Department wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. The 2017-18 theme is: American History: Our Hope for the Future

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship

Eligibility: High Achieving Seniors with family incomes up to $95,000 who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four year colleges and universities. Up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies. Each award is intended to pay for a significant share of the student’s educational expenses including tuition, living expenses and books. Up to $40,000.

Ann Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarships

High school senior with an identified learning disability (LD) who will be pursuing a 2 year community college, a vocational/technical training program, or specialized program for students with LD; demonstrate financial need; provide most current documentation of an identified learning disability; and be a US citizen.
