“The Originals” will draw binge-watchers to Netflix

The Originals is an American TV show that is a spin off of The Vampire Diaries. Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), is the main character, the series follows him and his mystical family of vampires through New Orleans. New Orleans is the town he built with his adopted son Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). According to Rotten Tomatoes, The Originals is 97% recommended to viewers with fictional interest. The first four seasons are now available on Netflix.

The show begins with the siblings returning to New Orleans for the first time since 1919, when their threatening father drove them out of their hometown. In their absence, Marcel took over the city and built it up to his perfection, driving the witches out and the new vampires in. When Klaus returns, he wants to take back his city which starts a war between him and the young boy he used to be a fatherly figure toward. While this war is brewing, Klaus has to figure out what to do with the werewolf girl (Phoebe Tonkin), that he impregnated, this ultimately begins problems with the werewolves (The Crescent Wolf Pack) and the vampires. New relationships bloom, family feuds begin and hidden family secrets unfold.
