To help store show animals for those who can not keep them at their houses, the ag department has been in the process of building a barn.

“I think the barn was a great idea,” FFA officer, junior Reese Davis said. “I truly think it will have positive results.”

The money that was used to build the barn was donated.

“A man named Bobby Casey left his cabin and his acreage to the ag department, only to be used for the department,” Goff said. “We were honored.”

The planning stages for the new facility started a couple years ago.

“We originally came up with the barn a couple years ago but we had to wait to make sure our funds were worked out,” FFA advisor Henry Goff said. “They started the dirt work for the building at the end of last school year. It has actually only take six months to complete.”

Goff can not take credit for all of the idea for the barn.

“It wasn’t my idea; well, it was sort of, but Mr. Freeman and I agreed that every tradition type of Ag program needs an Ag facility,” Goff said. “We toured other facilities and we got our ideas mostly from the Crossroads building.”

The barn is expected to be finished in almost a month.

“It is a great opportunity to expand the FFA program,” Goff said. “We are excellent in so many areas and this will give a chance to expand our excellence.”
