Deep Water Horizon, a 2016 film, is based on a true story of a horrendous 2010 oil rig disaster. The movie showcases the incident, which cost the lives of workers and others. The disaster stands as the worst ecological incident in this country’s history.

The movie is a two act piece: act one showcases the crew, and act two presents the disaster happening. It begins with the main characters, showing the workers lives and their jobs on the oil rig. Mark Wahlberg, starring as Mike Williams, works on an oil rigging dig in the Gulf of Mexico. The elder statesmen, “Mr Jimmy,” is played by actor Kurt Russell; a younger worker named Andrea Fleytas (Gena Rodrigues) is also on the rig. Problems begin to arise, and disaster strikes. The lives of workers are at stake as they fight for survival.

Deep Water Horizon is a must-see action filled with emotional and intense scenes. The film brings awareness to viewers of the tragedy of 2010. It was released in September of last year and was directed by Peter Berg.
