Lady Bison versus Onalaska – by Sarah Burchfield

The varsity volleyball team beat Onalaska on Tuesday night in five games, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

“It felt awesome to beat Onalaska,” senior Erykah Anderson said. “I thought we were going to win hands down, but they actually showed difficulty.”

The gym was decked out not in its usual purple, but in pink in honor of the Pink Out game. Names of breast cancer survivors and loved ones lost to the disease were on pink ribbons around the gym,.

“I like the pink out because it’s a good cause,” Anderson said. “We are getting more involved by wearing the pink shirts and socks to support all those women who once had breast cancer and the people who continue to fight it.”

Lady Bison versus Westwood – by Lilah Molina

Varsity volleyball faced a tough match Friday night against Westwood, losing in three: 13-25, 11-25, 15-25. Despite the scores, the girls kept trying.

“We never gave up,” freshman Kassidy Bell said. “Even when we were losing by 10 points, we never gave up.”

The JV team lost as well, but players say they see improvement each week.

“We played as a team and obviously improved since last week,” freshman Madison Rowan said. “We talked more and didn’t let the ball drop as much. We get better every week!”
