Theatre students are immersed in their first production of the year: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Students are busy in both production class and tech class to be prepared for next month’s performances.

“This is the first musical I have directed where we have not fallen behind on our rehearsal schedule,” director Jill Henson said.

The production will include elementary and junior high students who attend theatre camp next month, which many of the students have seen in the older movie version.

“I’ve always been obsessed with the old movie and the newer movie,” junior Katelyn Cannon said. “I’m glad to be a part of our department doing it.”

The musical will be performed for the public on November 13 and 15.
