Xander Cheek is a senior with a good head on his shoulders. Cheek plays football, baseball and track who strives to put his best effort into his performance. That paid off this year when he led the district in rushing yards during the season and continues to pay off with college offers to play football.

“ I will miss playing football with the boys,” Cheek said. “I can’t wait for baseball, I hope to make it to the playoffs there, too.”

Senior year has been a good one for Cheek; besides his performance on the field, he said he has expanded his circle some.

“ I enjoyed the people I became friends with,” Cheek said. “ I made more bonds with people this year.”

Even though Cheek has not decided on which school to attend this year, he does have plans to go to college after high school to study and become an electrician.

“I know a bunch of people who are electricians,” Cheek said. “ It’s mainly the money that is calling me to become one, though.”
