Last Tuesday the Lady Bison volleyball teams took on the Latexo Tigers, coming back after losing the first two sets to win the next three for a win in five.

“I wasn’t very nervous that we were going to lose,” junior Nicollette Arabie said. “We had been in that position so many times, and we always managed to pull it together.”

The team got down a couple of times during the game, but with the help of their super loud and supportive JV teams they pulled together an impressive win.

“It was very fun to cheer on the varsity,” junior Alyncia Jackson said.  “I love the energy of this team and can’t wait to see how we do later in the season.”

Although it was an interesting game the ladies felt the most rewarding thing wasn’t winning but the improvement the team has made.

“Winning was really fun,” senior Allison Bing said, “but I mostly enjoy getting to play the game I love with my teammates and also getting to get better with them.”

Early-morning practices and plenty of tournament play have contributed to the success of the teams this season.

“The tournaments and early morning practices are hard,” junior Alexia Dittman said. “I feel like all our hard work is really paying off and making us better players and teammates.”

The Ladies also pulled in wins against Lovelady earlier this week and will take on Blooming Grove this Friday.

I’m ready for this game and super excited,” sophomore Pari Beharat said, “especially after our win against Lovelady Tuesday.”
