After five long years, singer Adele finally released a new single from her upcoming album that will be available on Nov. 19. “Easy on Me” focuses on her relationship and her divorce with Simon Konecki.

However, Adele had dedicated the album to her 9 year-old son, Angelo. In an interview with British Vogue, Adele explained why she “voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life” in the pursuit of her own happiness. She sings, “I had good intentions and the highest hopes. But I know right now, it probably doesn’t show.” Adele reveals how it’s the first album where it had almost everything she needed to say.

Although it is a traditional Adele sad love song, “Easy on Me” changes the message as it talks about putting herself first. She worked with R & B producers Michael Kiwanuka and Little Simz, for an experimental song that is different from previous albums.

Her powerful vocals never disappoint her fans and her albums have always been a success. Adele’s last album, 25, went platinum in the first 24 hours and became the UK’s 14th best-selling album of all time. “Easy on Me” also became Spotify’s most-streamed song in a single day and is currently rising in the Billboard Chart Hot 100.

Her five-year break was definitely worth it. Fans, including me, have been emotionally preparing for her new album and there is no better time than for Adele to release it this year.
