The Buffalo Bison Track team held their first meet at home before spring break. The events began right after school and lasted all the way through the evening.

“I was really excited for the track meet but also very nervous,” sophomore Alondra Dominguez said. “I had only practiced a few times since I was always at softball practice. I am really proud of myself, though, because I did end up placing in some of my events.”

While all field events were being held, both of the long-distance races were run. Next were short races, relays, and hurdles. During each event, the girls ran first and the boys second.

“I competed in two field events and two running events,” freshman Molly Hirsh said. “Although I may not have placed that night, I achieved my goals.”

Both the girls and boys pushed through their events. They’ve been practicing every Monday through Thursday hoping to improve and get better for their next meet.

“I know that I still have a lot to work on, but I also know that I am improving everyday,” sophomore Alison Bing said. “My goal is to just do better at every track meet.”
