Three parents whose children were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012 filed defamation lawsuits last week against right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who claimed the shooting was “completely fake.” The lawsuits outline a number of articles published on InfoWars.com plus broadcasts hosted by Jones in which the plaintiffs say he worked to “convince their audience that Sandy Hook was faked and that the parents are lying.”

One of the law suits focuses on comments made by Mr. Jones in the past year in a segment on his radio show called “Sandy Hook Vampires Exposed” which aired on April 22, 2017. Soon after the children were buried, parents felt attacked by the conspiracy theorists that had said they are actors in an elaborate scheme to enact stricter gun control laws.

The  defamation lawsuits were filed in Travis County District Court in Austin, where Mr. Jones lives, broadcasts his show and operates Infowars. The parents are seeking more than $1 million in damages.
